Brothers and Sisters,
Happy Fourth of July to you and your family. Thank you for your hard work building our country’s future. On behalf of all of us at Local 537, I hope that you have a safe, enjoyable holiday weekend.
As we enter summer and return to work, your health and safety remain our top priority. We’ve established new regulations and guidelines across all our job sites in coordination with the United Association, the Massachusetts Building Trades, the Boston Building Trades, and the New England Mechanical Contractors Association. We strongly encourage everyone to uphold these protocols, socially distance when possible, and wear a mask when you’re on the job, in grocery stores, and in public places. These are the best ways that we can keep our communities safe.
Additionally, please note that our July Union Meeting has been canceled in accordance with Massachusetts social distancing guidelines. We’re looking forward to reconvening meetings when it’s safe to do so. Stay tuned for more details.
There’s already clear signs that we’re emerging from this pandemic stronger than ever. More members are returning to work every week. Our Funds are in great shape. And while we haven’t been able to celebrate in person yet, we’re very proud of our 5th Year Graduates. 110 pipefitting and HVAC-R apprentices just completed their five-year training program and are now Local 537 journeypersons. We’re one of the strongest unions in the industry, and we’re proving that every day.
Of course, we’re here for you in the coming days and weeks. Please call the Union Hall or your Business Agent if you have any questions or need assistance, or email LU537unionhall@pipefitters537.com. We’ve got your back, no matter what.
Stay safe and stay healthy.
In Solidarity,
Tom Kerr
