Pipefitting Training

Pipefitting is at the heart of Local 537, and our state-of-the-art training facility provides real pipe models for apprentices to gain exposure to piping for both commercial and residential buildings. Apprentices learn how to fit pipes to function as heat exchangers, where hot water or steam can run through the pipes and provide heating. They also learn how to install pipes that allow various elements to safely flow through hospitals, such as nitrogen, oxygen, and nitrous oxide. The pipefitting craft also includes learning to install the gas systems many hospital ventilators rely on.
