Instructors Training Program

In continuous operation since 1955, the United Association’s Instructor Training Program (ITP) is considered one of the most successful skills training programs in North America. Thanks to our partnership with Washtenaw Community College (WCC) in Michigan, our apprentices and journeypersons have the opportunity to advance their careers, earn college credits from their apprenticeships and instructor training, and finally earn degrees to teach their respective trades. The program encompasses intensive week-long classes in the latest teaching methods and emerging technologies in our trades.

Classes include specialized processes, accelerated welding training, management courses, certification programs, college degree programs, and so much more. By facilitating the training needs of our members, we maximize their employability and prepare them for our ever-changing industry, and the demands of the future.
